Outstanding Fountain Pen!
Over the past few years I have built a small, but useful collection of fountain pens. In my collection you’ll find pens from LAMY, Pilot, Visconti, Parker, Faber-Castell, and more. The majority of my pens are what I like to call working pens, meaning they do the job, but nothing more. Up until now, I had never experienced the joy of writing with a truly exceptional pen. The Ferris Wheel Press Bijou changed all of that. The Bijou (Luna Celeste) is a beautiful pen. The deep sapphire lacquer finish catches light, reflects it back at you, and contrasts nicely with the double gold-plated brass hardware. Likewise, the gold-plated, etched two-tone No. 5 nib is an absolute joy to behold.
For testing, I loaded the adapter that came with the Bijou with Iroshizuku’s Shin-kai, a medium blue-black ink made by Pilot. The color matched well with the dark sapphire lacquer of the cap and barrel. The fine two-tone nib grabbed the paper and instantly put down a solid, unbroken line of ink. Despite its diminutive weight, the pen didn’t hesitate or require any excessive pressure on my part. It allowed me to write as fast as I wanted, and was more than capable of keeping up with me. It was, without a doubt, the smoothest writing experience that I’ve ever had.
The Ferris Wheel Press Bijou is a stunning pen, it writes extremely well, and it doesn’t cost all that much when you consider what you’re getting. With that being said, I am looking forward to trying other pens and inks from Ferris Wheel Press like the Lord of the Rings (Ringbearer) pen and ink set, the Harry Potter (Hufflepuff House) pen, and the Superman (A View from Above) pen. Who am I kidding, I want all the inks! lol
