Subtle and sublime

Why choose an everyday ink of black or blue when you can have nuance such as this? A grey that captures mysteries in multitudes. Those darker inks are but a monotone, all one volume. But in grey we have options - to shout or to whisper? A grey this fine can handle all nuance capably. I love how it dries down with a subtle warmth - not enough to lean brown, but enough to take the edge off the cool-toned base.

A good grey rarely gets the respect it deserves. It's an indeterminate color by its very nature, more often defined by what it is NOT (black) than by its own merits. It begs the question: what color IS grey? Without the showy shimmer of silver, its eye-catching twin, grey is to some degree ineffable. It's a mood that sinks in your bones, like when an untimely shadow crosses your path...
It's being alone in a boat in rough choppy seas
The soft belly of a cooing pigeon
The butcher's dull blade at the end of the day
Cement beneath your feet, where once stood a forest
The velveteen nap of a Russian Blue who purrs for her supper
Silver sage and incense smoke
Moody skies that warn you to bring a sweater
Cold beloved ashes, caught in the breeze
The moon with her greedy eyes
A dusty slate, its secrets now silenced

In grey we have all possibilities not yet rendered.

Neutral and elegant

I really liked this ink, it is perfect for calligraphy and also to decorate my collage with a serious and deep touch.
