Description

Under the dappled canopy of the thick forest, the Big Bad Wolf creeps with a sinister grace, eyes glinting and cunning. As minutes pass, he watches a familial scene unfold. The eldest of the brothers works diligently, getting more annoyed as his younger siblings frolic, only feigning hard work. The wolf lurks and considers if he wants to interject on such a tense family scene, or if his growing appetite is worth the awkward conversationā€¦ Colour your curiosity with this ash brown ink and satisfy your creative appetite.

Once Upon a Design

Notable design details:

  • The Big Bad Wolf lurks behind trees, watching his targets intently. Inspired by the cunning persona of Lord Greyson.
  • The younger pigs juggle what looks to be bottles of Curious Woods FerriTales ink, at least they have good taste in writing supplies over their choice of building materials.
  • The eldest pig eyes his siblings across the grove, only eldest siblings can relate to his scorn.

I was curious, indeed!

And I was curious enough to buy this! This is a lovely dark brown with pink/green shimmer to definitely make it live up to it's name of "Curious Woods." The ink behaved and flowed well, the shimmer did not clog and does put a hint of whimsical magic into the ink. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 was that I wish there was more shading in the ink. That would really make it more curious!!

a nearly perfect bark

I love the neutrals gold brown tans etc.ā€¦ This is a fantastic brown. With bookkeepers brass, the writing desk, and Shangri-La, I am able to finally get the shading and depth that I really wanted on branches and tree trunks. as with all FWP inks, the glitter does settle quickly, and you've gotta shake it all the time to keep it in use, but it's totally worth it! Because that glitter is so fine it A) flows right through my pens and B) gives extra depth and shine that a larger cut of glitter would not be able to. I really really love the hints of green, like the moss on the trees up here in the PNW.

Beautiful ink, not sparkly

The ink is so fluid and moves easily through both my fountain pen and dipping pen. A great color for traditional illustration. The image showed it as being translucent/shimmery, which it doesnā€™t seem to be, but itā€™s super high quality and I LOVE the bottle it came in, itā€™s so pretty!
