Soft Subtle Shine

While fountain pen ink may be a tad more flexible in uses, there's nothing like the silky flow of good dip pen ink. The packaging for Juniper Moss (named after the intrepid explorer?) features a moose character painting on one side and examining something with binoculars on the other. It makes me think of a little adventure and the desire to capture something in the moment. Like all FWP dip pen inks, Juniper Moss has a lovely, silky quality for writing. I typically choose a glass dip pen for shimmer inks as glitter flakes can clog a traditional nib and disrupt flow. This ink has a lovely tonal quality. The shading varies from almost forest green to a light olive, and with very light ink application borders on chartreuse. The gold glitter is nice and it catches the light when tilted in the light. Like all shimmer inks, there's a great deal of settling for the glitter, which means the bottle must be shaken for every new coat to the pen. This could be rectified with a magnetic stirrer. Overall, it's nice to work with and the color is gorgeous.
