Once Upon a Design

Notable design details:

  • Lady Rose carefully surveys the flock, net at the ready in anticipation of the perfect moment to land the perfect catch.
  • All the dogs race across the field, eager and focused, except for Earl Greyson's obedient Bracco Italiano, who stays by his side until commanded.
  • It seems some of the flock have some surprising hitchhikers! Where do you think these little creatures want a ride to?

Delicious Grey Fountain Pen Ink

A wonderful, warm leaning misty grey with undertones of purplish brown. This is a tough one to color classify because at first it felt warm to me (and the FWP description also states this) but after diluting it with water (you can see in the splat test) it definitely has some cooler blue and pinky purple tones too ... it is kind of in that between area and really depends on the paper you use as to whether it shows up warm or cool - either way it is yummy.

Fits Right In

Highland Smoke is a nice medium tone between Granite Guardians and Bearrington Black.

Elegant and Understated Perfection

This ink is everything I hoped it would be and more. The warm grey tone is absolutely gorgeous, soft, misty, and incredibly refined. It has a subtle shading quality that gives my writing a quiet depth without ever feeling flat or dull.

The flow is smooth and consistent. I’ve used it in a few different fountain pens, and it performs beautifully across the board. No skipping, no feathering, and it dries at a reasonable pace too.

There’s something timeless and calming about this color. It feels like writing with fog or morning mist. Delicate, thoughtful, and perfect for reflective journaling or letter writing.

If you love muted, sophisticated inks with character, this one is a gem. A truly elegant addition to any fountain pen collection.
